Donatella Versace’s Glamor to Whitney Museum Art Gala
For the second year running, Donatella Versace lent her party-hosting skills to Whitney Museum of American Art’s fall gala. And once again, she brought a little bit of everything in door, from big-presence pop stars Shakira, Jennifer Hudson to leading men Gerard Butler to just-wanna-have-fun blonds like Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Momsen.
After dinner, Versace joined younger crowd that included Leigh Lezark and Alexa Chung in lower gallery. It didn’t involve tubs of polish, but her choice of escort for evening, Jet Li, was also an inspired experiment of sorts. Have a look at the party snaps of famous celebrities.

Donatella was fashionably late to the party. Two hours in, she was nowhere to be found; perhaps she was still upstairs tending to VIPs. Lohan said that she came “for Donatella” before beelining to Brian Atwood for a chat. Keeping with the “art chic” theme, walls of one whole room at party downstairs was covered in paper for guests to scribble on.
