Gerald Genta has added its latest evolution to their Arena Grande Sonnerie exclusive collection. Dubbed as Arena Metasonic, this noble timekeeper will blow you away with its musical twist. This ultra complex watch made its officially debut in 1994 and has been constantly improved ever since.

Assuring an enchanting chime, this stylish timepiece comes with a 46mm case crafted from titanium and a special metal alloy which is the result of in-depth acoustic and vibratory research. Featuring a combination of horizontal satin-brushed and vertical-polished surfaces, and an ostrich leather strap, the Arena Metasonic watch brings in true magic of cutting-edge innovation to your wrist.

Striking watches are categorized into quarter, five-minute and most frequently minute repeater models. And Grande Sonnerie or “grand strike” variations can be triggered up to 35,040 times a year. They strike hours and quarters automatically or “in passing”, as well as being systematically equipped with minute repeater which strikes hours, quarters and minutes on request.

The Grande Sonnerie models comprise approx 850 parts for hand-wound models, 950 for self-winding versions, and 1,100 for those equipped with a perpetual calendar. And there’s no doubt in this, that it takes around a year’s work to craft just one such watch. Only 61 in all have emerged out from Gerald Genta workshops since 1994.
Each Grande Sonnerie watch reacts in its own way, according to the volume occupied by movement within the case and corresponding empty spaces. The materials selected and their treatment; the strength of hammer; as well as a whole host of details such as quality of the screws, joints and weldings. All these aspects have been precisely reviewed by Gérald Genta in order to achieve current degree of perfection.
At $900,000, the Arena Metasonic is limited to just 10 pieces, making it not only outrageously expensive but tantalizingly exclusive, the perfect combination for the world’s elite trying to stand out from lesser souls.
