Chanel Spring / Summer 2010 Collection representing Neon Baroque
Paris Fashion Week is always full of surprises and one more in this list was Chanel spring/summer 2010 collection. Paris Haute couture 2010 Fashion week has witnessed many classic shows such as Alexis Mabille and Josephus Thimister Spring 2010 Collection but Chanel spring 2010 collection was very different. For first time in his career, Karl Lagerfeld came up with a collection without black or navy colors and solely based on silver and pastel shades. Not even a gold Button. Quite surprising!!

Chanel spring/summer 2010 Haute Couture collection was all about romance, space age, and incredible eye-tricking handwork. Exquisite work was done on the fabric. Great variety was shown in clothes, from short suits to shifts, from frothy cocooning bubbles to liquid to gas.
Quite an innovative and whole new look of brand was seen in redesigned traditional Chanel suit, A-line skirt replaced by little shorts and embroideries depicting smashed glass or molten metal.

Highlights of show were : halter dress suspended from a crystal choker, heart-shaped cartoonish hair and the rococo-heeled silver booties. Lot of use of silver was seen on silver leather half-glove and the silver shoe-boots with carved heels and pearl trimmed soles.
Designer’s artistic imagination was seen in silver lame sculpted into lavish collars, thousands of handmade silk roses cascaded as a cape over a silver-Jewelled shift, meters of silk tulle caressed into ruffled clouds forming train of a bridal gown with jeweled bodice and sleeves.

Pastel shades like yellow, candy-pink and fluorescent lime hues appeared like icing, amid a delicate tableau of frosted pastels, champagne and cream. Chanel spring 2010 Haute Couture collection in Paris kept black and gold away from it completely but a hint of black was seen in the form of a large kipper tie, embellished with a crystal brooch in front of classic, white Chanel silk bridal gown. Chanel neon baroque collection was just amazing.
