Gone are the days when size zero was expected norm to be a fashion model or to carry a sexy, ritzy look. Leaving behind noughties and heading towards a new decade, V magazine has broken the mold of skinny, chopstick shaped models and came up with notion that beauty comes in all sizes and shapes. V magazine has featured plus size models carrying an ultra sexy look, stylized by Nicola Formichetti. Photographer Solve Sundsbo has left no stone unturned in embracing plus size curves and in turn plus size fashion.

Giving a stiff competition to thin models, plus size models, Candice Huffine, Marquita Pring, Michelle Olson, Tara Lynn and Kasia P have posed like a style diva and are clearly depicting real side of women. There is plenty of room in fashion world for women who look like – The Real Women. The voluptuous models, wearing a pair of Guess jeans, Dolce & Gabbana plus size lingerie, a Gucci plus size swimsuit, and in one shot nothing but some fire engine red lipstick are perfectly embracing that, plus size clothing can also be a bold fashion statement.

V Magazine’s editorial titled ‘Curves Ahead’, is already in news and will hit newsstands on January 14. 2010 is going to be rocking year for models flaunting plus size clothes and will get lots of attention for their smoking hotness. So, all the plus size women out there, get ready to steal limelight and prove notion – ’smaller is better’, completely wrong.
I’ve always been a fan of fuller-figured models. There’s a great site with many images of plus-size models here:

They’re all gorgeous.
The site’s forum also has thought-provoking discussions about body image and the media.
There’s an interview with two of the models (the blondes!) on this website:

Gives you a look behind the scenes and shows that V Magazine really treated the whole thing with integrity – kudos to them for that!
