London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010/11 season, opened on Friday with remembrance of late designer Alexander McQueen. Sarah Brown opened London Fashion Week 2010 by praising designers, responsible for building Britain’s fashion industry.
The organizers of London Fashion Week paid tribute to McQueen, with a remembrance wall in mammoth fashion tent pitched in courtyard of Somerset House to leave messages for much-loved designer. Hundreds of messages posted will be collected in a book and given to McQueen’s family once fashion week is done.

Somerset House was packed with fashionistas from early morning with women wearing tight black mini-dresses and stiletto heel and leopard skin print dresses.
Despite the reflective mood, opening day of London Fashion Week was highlighted with plenty of canapes and champagne, designer fashion, bright red lipstick and hairstyling of fashionistas. List of designers participating in London Fashion Week is very long. Most anticipated ones are show by Paul Smith, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and other stalwarts.
This time, London Fashion Week will feature 68 catwalk shows and more than 200 labels in companion exhibition. Some of designers at London Fashion Week who exhibited their collection on opening day are Paul Costelloe, Caroline Charles, Maria Grachvogel, Aminaka Wilmont, Hakaan and Hannah Marshal.
