Giles fashion show was among opening shows of Paris Fashion Week 2010. Giles Autumn/Winter 2010-11 collection was all about striking giant beehive hair updos resembling 60s fashion. Like Prada and Rochas, there were very interesting designer pieces. Giles Deacon, the designer’s inspiration behind this collection was based on slightly disconsolate girls who might be from sixties.

Collection was full of palette of browns and orange, A-line skirts, metallic brocade gathered short skirts, cropped versions of winter’s new flares, and a shearling jacket. Highlights of show were big collar Apollo-mission space suit and toy-shaped handbags like gonk and a gremlin by Katie Hillier. It was a off schedule show of Paris Fashion Week.

Models walking runway in hair teased into ballooning bouffants were Karolina Kurkova, Angela Lindvall, Jessica Stam and Carmen Kass wearing stiletto pumps resembled a parade of trophy astronaut wives.

A curvy olive dress with a spray of seams sending fabric swooping over the hips aerodynamically looked beautiful. There were lot of slinky secretary skirts, jersey shifts with cloud like scallops and a flaring, waist-cinched trench. Truly awesome show.
