And now its time for 90s supermodels to flaunt the runway shows. Did I say 90s supermodels? Oh Yeah!! You have seen its sneak peek in Calvin Klein’s Fall 2010 show. Francisco Costa, the designer behind Calvin Klein fall 2010 collection casted models like 39-year-old Stella Tennant and 43-year-old Kristen McMenamy to bring a dramatic change in Runway History!!

Well! We can say that he succeeded to bring that Big Change and it seems that older supermodels will rule many 2011 runway collections. It has been heard from the sources that Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa would like to cast older and less waifish models for his next runway collection. Even he is ready to do “Street Casting” for his runway shows. I think Costa would not leave any chance of doing something new every time!

Chilean-born designer Maria Cornejo is moving on Costa’s steps, as she is less than thrilled with using young models, but says that for a small business, it’s difficult to do otherwise. She said, “It’s very hard, especially if you’re a small company, to do a show, because you’re basically dealing with models that the agencies are sending you, and they’re only sending you the new girls because a lot of girls who are older and more mature refuse to do the shows — they don’t want to be put next to the 16-year-old girl who just arrived.”

If lovely ladies from 90s strutted down the runway then it will be a sign of a new era for fashion in the new decade. Well, if we talk about “waif movement”, Clavin Klein has already kicked it off and is going to continue it further with new innovative mixtures. Hope the “Street Casting” comes soon. Who knows, the next supermodel is from your friend-circle or the person whom you met at the party or somewhere else!!
