Julien’s Auctions has assembled world class selection of Marilyn Monroe’s personal items and professional property to be auctioned on June 26th & 27th. The auction will be held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas.

Auction highlights Monroe’s personal and career property including a collection of items from Estate of Dr. Ralph Greenson; the chair used by Marilyn in her final photo shoot; David Conover negatives and copyrights to Marilyn Monroe photographs. Its not the end, auction will also feature Marilyn Monroe’s chest X-Ray’s from Cedars of Lebanon Hospital from her doctors visit on November 10th, 1954; unreleased photographs of Monroe on her honeymoon with Joe DiMaggio including their visit to troops in Korea, as well as Marilyn’s personal bottle of Chanel No. 5.

Among other items offered for sale from her estate are- therapy couch used in his Beverly Hills home office where Marilyn Monroe would lie during her appointments with Dr. Greenson; personal Pucci clothing gifted to daughter of Dr. Greenson, as well as handwritten correspondence between the two. The chair on which Marilyn shot her final photo shoot bears the mark of that day, as Monroe posed for photo by sitting on back of chair and punctured the upholstery as she rested her high heel on cushion.

Another highlight of this sale is a bottle of Chanel personally owned by Marilyn Monroe. Perhaps no product is so closely aligned with Marilyn Monroe other than Chanel No. 5 perfume. When Monroe was asked in 1954 that what she wore to bed at night she replied, “Five drops of Channel No. 5 only”, linking two icons forever. Marilyn’s endorsement of perfume popularized fragrance in US. The picture of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Ed Feingersh (shown above), was taken in 1955 after this news made a big splash.
This unparalleled two-day sale of Hollywood memorabilia Marilyn Monroe seems to be equivalent as Michael Jackson custom furniture auction to be held in June. Let’s see which auction will help Julien’s to grab more money! For more information and to register to bid visit www.juliensauctions.com.
