Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen new creative director has presented her much awaited Cruise 2011 Collection. Alexander McQueen Cruise 2011 Collection by Sarah Burton is inspired by samurai warriors and erotic Hans Bellmer dolls.


According to Sarah Burton, she wanted to “juxtapose the pale and the delicate with the bold and armorial. It’s about a highly structured torso that gives way to a more fluid silhouette or drop waists that lead to a finned trouser or skirt.”

Sarah Burton womenswear 2011 collection managed to struck the perfect balance between romantic and macabre—a familiar terrain—with sharp tailoring and a couple of show-stopping gowns. Designer’s exclusive designing style was visible in rounding of the pagoda shoulder and fluid Prince of Wales coat dress that brought a softer edge to McQueen’s signature tailoring.
