For Spring 2011 season, designer Alexander Wang said ‘NO’ to black and grays, welcoming white color in big way. Alexander Wang Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week Collection showed during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2011 was stuffed with light color dresses (mostly in white).

Show started with models including Agyness Deyn, Karolina Kurkova and Omahyra Mota stepping on runway in all white ensembles and white paint in hair, with slashes of rose gold here and there that meant to evoke duct tape.

Alexander Wang Spring 2011 NYFW Collection was all about white color and different styles of dresses like slip dresses, apron dresses, parachute pants, sack dresses, covered with splashes of color. Outerwear featured was also very stylish that included white motorcycle jackets, snowy long trenches, and ivory kimono jackets.

Earlier this year, Alexander Wang was named as the top womenswear designer by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2011 Collection flaunted during New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 perfectly says that she deserved it.

Highlights of show included sleeveless white and taupe vest, a slinky white pullover, copper patches here and there, funky hair do and accessories. Alexander Wang 2011 Women’s Collection included monochromatic outfits and several all-white ensembles, may not be for everyone but it was unique in its own way.

It was not only about white dresses but some flashes of color like some of the dresses included designs in ivory, mint, and terra-cotta, hint of strawberry were also flaunted.

Talking about accessories, modified tool bags took place of handbags that complemented the look very well. Necklaces made of thick chain links were also interesting. In all, Alexander Wang Spring 2011 women’s collection looks apt for spring season and summer ahead.
