Renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra presented his Summer/Resort 2011 Collection on the second day of Lakme Fashion Week. It was all about a traditional blend of Indian crafts with contemporary touches.
Manish Malhotra Summer 2011 Collection flaunted 40 gorgeous evening wear creations for both men and women showed against rustic background of ethnic motifs and ornate lamps hanging from the ceiling.
Models stepped on the runway donning designs adorned with Chikankari work as well as Kashmiri embroidery. Summer vibes were coming out of delicate summer shades of aqua, green, powder blue and ivory.
There were voluminous lehengas, kalidar in net with silver zari work, floor length kurtas teamed with flared lehengas. Making Manish’s designs fit for a variety of occasions were Rajasthani gotta borders. It was very different from Manish Malhotra Summer/Resort 2011 Collection.
As for Manish Malhotra Summer 2011 menswear, colors like beige, grey and navy were prominent in collection. Male models donned sharply tailored bundgala jackets, sherwanis, kurtas paired with either slim pants, Jodhpuri trousers, churidars, Pathani or cowled salwars.
