Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 Collection presented during New York Fashion Week made it sure that Floral Prints are here to stay for a long while.

The Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung went out of his comfort zone and showcased a collection inspired by Japanese artist’s Nobuyoshi Araki’s “Sensual Flowers” photography series.

Floral motif was visible everywhere from dresses, coats to pantsuits. There was floral print silk georgette dress, floral Rorschach-like print dresses, track shorts in laser-cut floral mesh, fitted wool pantsuit in floral print and much more.
Nice play of various shades of violet and purple, green, and black color palette made Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 collection quite refreshing.

Another trend that was widely present in Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 fashion show was sheer fashion trend. There were sexy dresses with sheer panels were inset at the waist or hips, some see-through tulle dresses, chic cutout dresses and much more.

Highlights of collection included a long-sleeved, violet lace gown with rubber paillettes; a pair of sharply tailored silk jackets with sculpted lapels; dresses embellished with bondage accents and sheer geometric cutouts.
