Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli’s new couture collection for romantic Italian label Valentino fall 2011 haute couture line showcased ankle-length chemisier dresses in pale nudes, soft metallic prints and romantic ivory, silvery hues.

Valentino Fall 2012 Haute Couture Show opened with model stepping on runway in a full sleeved gold and silver pearl gown, braided at the neck and waist.

There were romantic evening wear, daywear in white, collarless coats as well as bold red statement-making dresses.

Exuding luxury were cocktail dresses spun from a net of crystals, tweed suit gilded with gold and platinum, ankle-length chemisier dresses presenting nice play of nude tulle, chiffon, lace and feather, making collection every inch Paris Haute Couture season worthy.

Incredible numbingly detailed techniques were visible in a light grey long chantilly and tulle long dress with 360 folds and pleated tulle, details like buttons running up the sleeve of a governess-y pale crepe gown.

Highlights of Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2011 fashion show included velvet gown braided at the neck and waist, light grey long Chantilly and tulle long dress, a light green hematite and silver crystal dress.

Making the Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2011 women’s collection ultra-feminine were luxurious lace and feathers with faded metallic beads, tulle, silks and velvets in decadent gold, nude and ivory hues.

Rounding up the show was model Freja Beha Erichsen stepping on runway in gorgeous ethereal and modern with delicate gold lace embroidery.

Color palette followed was very cool and calm capturing cream, black and signature Valentino red color. Talking about collection, it mainly targeted young woman fashion and teenage girls who like feminine dressing and understated hair and makeup.

Lot of short skirts, dropped waist, baby doll, and kitten heel were displayed. Designers named their Valentino Fall 2010 Couture collection “The Dark Side of First Love“. Show opened with model stepping on runway in little black dresses in gazar and then lots of short skirt, dropped waist, baby doll, and kitten heels were displayed.

Designs like a trapeze coat in ivory crepe tied with bow was awesome. Showing ‘The Dark Side of First Love’ were black gazar sheath underpinned a sheer dress trimmed in huge organza flowers and a baby doll in ruffled tiers of powder pink.

It was a very wearable collection for teenage girls and young women flaunting teenage fashion and young women fashion. There were short dresses, gowns, skirts in subtle color palette with two dresses in red color.

One interesting design of Valentino Couture Fall/Winter 2010/11 Collection was a model stepping on runway with a cage showing that she is trapped.

Explaining idea behind Valentino Fall 2010 black and white Campaign, Creative director of the brand Maria Grazie Chiuri explained:

“The idea is that of an unexpectedly intimate black-and-white portrait with candid shots of unconventional, delicate and individual beauty and a more dangerous undercurrent. We believe it is a very modern and feminine vision and we wanted to show each woman’s unique personal allure.”

As Valentino is greatest fashion empires founded by fashion designer Valentino Garavani, and this brand was soon known for its sensual and sexy but mysterious feminine designs. So this time also it showed chock-full of girly, frilly ruffles- which give a perfect romantic touch and could be used as wedding dress, bridal shoes, and more. Amazing red ruffled gowns on runway definitely heated up the world of couture. And models floating down with multi-tiered ruffles look almost like sleek wedding cakes. Valentino show proved that looking like dessert can also be in fashion.

Latest collection of Valentino brings out feminine and luxurious designs. Lightening of colors and fabric brings out classic items that fit perfectly onto a strong attitude look. Pale coats with ruffled lapels were definitively feminine and coats with panels of contrasting fur lengths were a mere acknowledgement. With these soft materials and colors, fragility and purity bring out an old days idea about power of women in society. In this collection, designer duo focused on stylish ruffly dresses and fur. Valentino couture showed a magical contradiction between wispy draping and fantasy-tribal styling. Quite innovative!! It seems like designers for Valentino Spring 2010 collection have experienced that to keep future in couture, it’s necessary to bring new customers who want something cooler.

Talking about vibe of show, it was very soothing and pleasant. Models draped in Chiuri and Piccioli collection with blue sprayed shoulders and beautiful eyes were clearly addressing, different world. Wrapped, draped chiffon dresses and a jacket with black patches jigsawed onto a base of near-invisible flesh-colored goergette looked awesome.

Highlight of show was a transparent satin ribbon bandage dress with a sheer long sleeve that hardly differentiated between skin and fabric. The extra pieces which hang at the back give the impression that the dress can be undone in a second. One interesting take on show is that, draping was not limited to dresses but was beautifully flaunted on shoes as well that looked very youthful

There wasn’t any red dress in sight. Instead, Piccioli and Chiuri romanced with soft tones of nude, gold, rose, lavender, and gray that have become big color story of the season. Their methods included swirling organza around body tying it off with a flamboyant bow, embroidering tulle T-shirt dresses in geometric metal palettes and antique laces, and printing chiffon with black orchids.

A couple of minis embellished with laser-cut rosettes and fitted leather jackets provided a bit of edge. London-based milliner Philip Treacy created some fanciful footwear with lace wings arcing upward from the heels. In sum, this was a well-timed step forward for Valentino’s new duo, that put the brand at the center of some of Spring’s key trends and started to give it a new relevance.

But, the Danish model, Freja Beha, with her sleek, androgynous look, had trumped them all. She made a fine closing for Karl Lagerfeld’s own collection, Chanel (alongside Baptiste Giabiconi and Lara Stone), Dries van Noten and Valentino. That in itself could have warranted the win, but Freja was the first face at Rick Owens and Chloe also. She also made her appearances on runway for Balenciaga, Balmain, Celine, Gareth Pugh, Hermes, Isabel Marant, Lanvin, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Sonia Rykiel, and Stella McCartney. Phew!!

Erichsen made her debut as a model in 2005 at the fall Prada, Miu Miu, and Louis Vuitton shows in Milan and Paris, where she opened for Miu Miu. Since then, she has appeared in many ad campaigns for famous brands like Balenciaga, Jil Sander, Hugo Boss, Gucci, H&M, CK by Calvin Klein, Hermes, Chanel, and Chloe.
