This is Alexander Wang’s first ever print campaign. Under creative direction of Fabien Baron and stylist Karl Templer, the spirit of the runway show has been captured in this photo presenting Alexander Wang Spring 2011 Collection.

Wang doesn’t want his four images to be called a campaign “We restrained from using those words, because you set yourself up for doing things in a systematic way — like rolling out ads in the magazines certain times of the year,” and instead uses the term “image piece.”

Show started with models including Agyness Deyn, Karolina Kurkova and Omahyra Mota stepping on runway in all white ensembles and white paint in hair, with slashes of rose gold here and there that meant to evoke duct tape.

To flaunt his unique collection, Alexander Wang has managed to gather best models like Anja Rubik, Edita Vilkeviciute, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Liu Wen & Mirte Maas for his campaign. Models have posed in a way that represents darker grungier version of his football-inspired collection. Wang has delved into world of advertising campaign imagery with this unique set of promotional images for his Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. Look of whole shoot denotes a nice blend of simplicity, a fantastic cast and clothes.

Each of the models have stolen spotlight with tussled hair, pulled back in a very recognizable side ponytail and minimal expressions. This ad campaign is an artistic mixture of great clothes and simplified style.

The show wasn’t event’s sole high point. But to mark award’s 10th anniversary, Swiss Textiles assembled previous years’ winners, an all-star cast including Raf Simons, Haider Ackermann, and Marios Schwab for a panel discussion. Fashion-industry headhunter Mathias Ohrel and author Dana Thomas were also included in the judge panel.

Wang’s most recent show, the Spring 2010 Collection presented at New York Fashion Week, was a highly innovative combination of athletic actively sportswear with nighttime cool. From corset sweatshirt tops, linebacker shoulders on gray, or perforated rugby stripe looks morphed into tunics and raincoats composed as capes it was all about reinventing athletic codes into cool and contemporary fashion.

The prize of 100,000 euros, or $147,000, is not paid out in cash, but instead 10,000 euros is allocated to buy Swiss fabric, with the remainder used to produce and market upcoming collections by Wang. Wang’s other five finalists did not go away bare handed, but instead they were given a fabric voucher worth 4,000 euros, or $5,880.
