Kenzo’s designer, Antonio Marras wanted his collection to represent bohemian spirit of romantic 70s and he truly did that.

There were long light dresses and voluminous sweater-coats teamed with classy hats, giving a 70s touch to collection. Inspiration behind this collection were actresses Marisa Berenson and Maria Schneider that lead designer to present contrast between the bourgeois and the bohemian lifestyles at the Paris prêt-à-porter season 2010.

Highlights of collection were ultra long maxi dresses teamed with wedge-soled boots and wide-brimmed hats, a boxy blazer with sleeves in sparkling leopard print and ankle length tent dress in blood orange flower print. Accessories like big, leather mailbag slung over one shoulder and printed silk scarves for winter looked quite interesting.

Vibe of collection and its presentation with swooping arches of bamboo and dried grasses, on runway, was very Bohemian. Designer focused on two key color themes – terracotta/teal and violet/turquoise. Long and little gypsy dresses were evoking 70s Bohemian style perfectly.

Jumpers in over-sized floral prints, maxi-sweater coats in the madcap stripes, vests glinted with embroidered mirror-work, defined Paris based label’s patchwork aesthetic. Models looked really stylish wearing airy bohemian dresses in sheer flower prints with long flowing skirts. It was a great show.

Ennio Capasa’s Spring 2010 Show, for Costume National, at Paris Fashion Week, showcased luxe leathers and creamy silks in deep browns, slate grays and paler blues. His premise was “tender heart, tough exterior,” which possibly explained biker-chick combo of jacket and shorts. Simple but alluring deep-v halter necks, scarves incorporated into the draping of various looks, high slits and short shorts created a collection that’s both high fashion and effortless city chic style.

Antonio Marras is one of the fashion’s indigenous romantics, given to grand gestures that stir the emotions. His latest collection for Kenzo was a huge golden disc. There was a Europe-meets-ethnic vibe to the clothes, which was perfectly tuned with ethos of house that it underlined how appropriate was choice Marras for this job.

Designer’s own inclinations toward darkish glamor were evident in floral print he matched with man-tailored jacket in black lame, or a draped dress trailing threads of old gold Lurex. Marras’s concept was woman-as-explorer, with gold as an underlying theme, expressed in giant gilded sun and golden strings of light which decorated the catwalk. Beige and tile-blue mosaic prints and knits represented woman as voyager, with practical hooded tops, easy, sarouel trousers and a huge sack-bag.

The common thing about both collections is, that they have perfectly shown their Spring 2010 Glamor, with a main focus on youth and revealing a hard-core fashion trend!
