Fashion giant Gucci’s Fall 2011 Collection was presented on the first day of the fashion week. It gave onlookers a glimpse of 1970’s fashion fused with a dash of the 1940’s demeanor. Most prominent and eye catching thing on runway were designs with fur in eye popping colors.

Gucci designer Frida Giannini took influence from flame-haired songstress Florence Welch and Anjelica Huston, as lensed by the photographer Bob Richardson for her sexy fall collection.

Gucci Fall 2011 runway show got painted with jewel tones as models stepped on runway in classy, closely cut outfits like military style jackets, and knee-length skirts worn with a dandyish fedora in forest greens, teal, deep burgundy, lilac and winter orange colors. Just like Gucci Spring 2011 Collection, lots of colors were seen on the runway.

Talking about Gucci Fall 2011 evening dresses, there were sexy, billowing evening gowns, made from sheer material with top slashed as far as the navel and cuts flaunting model’s endless legs defined with super-high heels. Models were looking va-va-voom in colorful gowns in lemon yellow, deep red and light green topped with glossy dark lips.

Looks like bell-bottomed cut of the trousers and pant-skirts flaring out above knee-length leather boots, leather biker jackets paired with overlarge sunglasses, jewel-toned pantsuits, suede skirts that hit below the knee, slim-fitting coats worn with vibrant fur stoles and plumed fedoras, high-neck collars and quarter-length sleeves were head turning.

Just like dresses, Gucci fall 2011 handbags were also chic. Handbags were small and subtle bearing double GG buckle. The new Jackie bag with a long, detachable shoulder strap was also interesting. Accessories like glossy black patent leather boots, fur scarves added to beauty of designs.

Gucci opened Milan Fashion Week Spring 2011 season on Wednesday with a virtuoso display of equestrian style, 1970’s fashion, vivid color and tribal-inspired beading. Explaining the inspiration behind collection, Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini said that clothes were designed for “modern amazons; an intellectual tribe of exotic women, seen through an urban lens.”

Milan Fashion Week Spring 2011 first day show started as Giannini’s models stepped on runway clad in trousers and pantsuits in vibrant hues of dusty oranges, purples, pinks and jade. Then came models flaunting Gucci Spring 2011 womenswear that included corsets, tops, and skirts adorned with intricate weaves, fringing and embellishment.

Collection was all about womanly clothes that evokes strength of women and takes onlooker to a journey of something wildly unique and still impeccably polished.

Highlights of show included Gucci harem pants, high-waisted tulip skirts, leather riding-jackets, suede jodhpurs, pencil skirts teamed with blazers in bright orange or lapis-blue, and camisoles in violet. Check out some London Fashion Week Spring 2011 Collections.

Making Spring 2011 Gucci Milan Fashion Week Collection all the more magnificent were accessories that included “cage” stilettos, sandals with python detailing and metallic heel, snakeskin belts, Mini shoulder bags and lots more.

Menswear inspired womenwear Spring 2011 fashion was prominent in tailored men’s jackets, riding jackets and bomber jackets. Gucci Spring 2011 dresses were also fashion forward.

Over the next six days, Milan Fashion Week will witness spring 2011 collections by Italy’s top ready to wear designers that includes Armani, Cavalli, Fendi, Ferre, Prada, Versace and Gucci has undoubtedly given it a great start!! Jackets and high-waisted stretch leggings, were inset with sections of sports mesh. Lashed through the torso and outside leg with crisscross lacing of rubber piping, these jackets were bristled with some silver hardware also. Minimized and motocross parachute jackets and crocodile bikers all came out just like a sort of thing a Gucci girl loves.

Midway came a drop in speed when show took a detour around ikat prints which was an odd thing to add, and probably a hedge against losing customer who has gone for folkloric side of Gucci recently. Giannini got back on track when the color and ikat pattern disappeared and was transformed into silvery needle-sharp embroidery on short black body-dresses.

The show came to an end with a robot-woman dress, totally encased in a tubular web of metallic and crystal beading that has nothing to do with bucolic, drifty, and romantic themes wafting up and down other runways.
