Gareth Pugh menswear fall 2010 collection consisted of a crop top, wide leg leather pants and coats with skirt like flaps hanging off the bottom,  strapped leather top, cobweb-crochet cloaks and capes worn over skinny leather jeans all in black and gray colors and leather.

Designer wanted his women to look strong that’s why Gareth Pugh womenswear fall 2010 collection was full of stiff, chevron-striped tunics with bootleg trousers, high-collared military coats, suits of solid looking neoprene backed leathers, asymmetrical crocheted coat over leggings. Adding a softer touch to collection were long and short kaftan like tunics made of chevron-striped leather on georgette. Leather coat dresses were also fabulous.

Owing to fall 2010 collection by Giles and Gareth Pugh, beginning of Paris Fashion Week 2010 became truly marvelous. Highlights of show were leather dresses draped in fine chains, over-the-knee boots and pleated palazzo pants. There were also some party wear dresses like black leather dresses teamed with bootleg trousers and accessorized with a series of silver-chains.

In all, it was a fabulous and very well executed show with lot of fabulous leather pants, leather jackets for women and men.

His first outfit, a trench belted, over a floating chiffon dress, in tone-on-tone shades of gray, set the mood for show. Models were done with a shaded face makeup as though they’d walked through an ash cloud, with grey head wraps. They marched to mournful sound of strings and drumbeats, a Matthew Stone soundtrack that featured a stentorian interpretation of the theme from Requiem for a Dream.

The girls’ dresses were, literally, slashed to ribbons, in in zippered trench-coats and two-tone shades of grey silk chiffon, skin-tight leather tailoring, and high, wedge-soled boots laced up with satin ties. Skin-tight, knitted dresses were, similarly, paneled in contrasting shades, or featured tiers of fine pleating.

Overall the effect was a kind of moon-glow lightness, rather than alien articulation his clothes once relied on. The show drew an impressive front row, including Rihanna, Terence Koh, Michael Stipe, Daphne Guinness, and Adrian Grenierfrom from Entourage.
