John Galliano Fall 2010 Haute Couture Collection for Christian Dior at Paris Couture Fashion Week was both faithful to the house and as fresh as a daisy.

Taking reference form Christian Dior’s 1953 Spring Collection that introduced  “tulip line” and included floaty prints, Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall 2010 turned out to be a very dramatic runway show. Be it clothes, hairstyles, stage presentation; everything was so dramatic and perfect. Headgears like inverted cellophane bouquet wraps by Stephen Jones were stunning.

This collection is result of designer John Galliano research on real flowers, spending an hour watching the light change on parrot tulip. Photographs taken by two great flower photographers de nos jours, Irving Penn and Nick Knight also gave Galliano inspiration for this floral inspired feminine collection.

Talking about Christian Dior Fall 2010 Haute Couture dresses, coat like a huge inverted daffodil and a dress in black taffeta that was hand-painted with pansies,  jacket and skirt combinations like white felt over lilac organza, jade mohair with a swoop of portrait neckline over a petaled bubble of black organza, colored petal details delicately draped over ballooning skirts, cinched at the waist were awesome.

Opening day of Paris Couture Fall 2010 turned out to be more huge and dramatic with John Galliano’s Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall 2010 collection.

Christian Dior Haute Couture Gowns were big, dreamy, beautiful, colorful and completely mesmerizing owing to cinched waists and layers and layers of detail and textures.

Making entry in a straw country hat, John Galliano, Dior’s designer said “I’m having a floral moment”.

With his Spring 2011 Mens Collection, John Galliano wanted to make a statement about new proportions in menswear. Pieces like Little Tramp’s shrunken jacket, baggy pants were quite good.

Following Scott Barnhill, dressed as Charlie Chaplin was Buster Keaton wearing porkpie hat, three-piece suit and giving lugubrious expression.

Models in faux mustaches and bowler hats were looking quite stylish. Charlie Chaplin fashion was awesome.

Designer John Galliano performed role of director and designer, quite well. Then came boys parading in bathing suits and underwear.

At ending of show, models stepped in voluminous trousers and evening jackets adorn with straps, zips, and a generally brazen attitude.

John Galliano Spring 2011 Mens Collection was not only about designer clothes but also about accessories like rope belts, dangling pocket watches and dandified suspenders served as must have mens accessories.

Lots of suits, hats and accessories were flaunted but what grabbed everybody’s attention was theme and look of the show. In end, John Galliano walked runway in wife-beater, blue jeans and cap.

There were number of shows that can be called “Attention Grabbers”. Among the top ones were Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Elie Saab. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are considered as performance artists of fashion world. Their Fall show, which they dubbed Glamor Factory, picked up where their Babushka collection of more than ten years ago left off. The Dutch duo displayed black and dark gray liquid outer layers that were transformed into dresses, statement coats, and skirts, highlighting collection’s versatility and malleability.

While some pieces, like heavy hipped confection above (which transformed into a cape), seemed a little over the top. Several pieces, including the oversized coats and strapless, ripped and zipped cocktails, would undoubtedly find homes in wardrobes of celebrity front row fixtures Beth Ditto and Lindsay Lohan.

Viktor & Rolf Fall 2010 Collection represented what is loved most about Paris Fashion Week. They married spectacle with practicality, beguiling and amusing audience members by their mere presence and deft handiwork while also offering a handful of very wearable, seasonless pieces. Truly anything is possible in Fashion World!!

John Galliano Eau de Toilette consist of fresh notes like green notes, lavender and bergamot, added to iris-rose accord. It is very soothing, owing to its natural ingredients such as essence of Moroccan rose and Atlas cedar wood, absolute of rose and florentine iris along with high-quality musks.

Perfumer Aurelien Guichard is behind this new twist on signature perfume John Galliano Eau de Parfum. Talking about flacon, it’s not very different but not exactly similar to John Galliano’s debut perfume. John Galliano Eau de Toilette is bottled in flacon of lightened color palette, making it transparent to experience freshness of new pale pink liquid fragrance.

Curves and silhouettes featured on bottle, just like silhouettes presented in John Galliano gowns, evokes its femininity and subtleness. Letter G signifying Galliano is featured on top of this flacon along with luscious golden rose on neck. This designer fragrance will launch in France, U.K., and in other European cities in April 2010, while it will launch in USA it will launch in Spring 2011. 40 ml bottle will be available for about $70.50 and the 60 ml for $89.50.

In 40s, equestrian clothes and accessories were very famous and that was theme of John Galliano spring 2010 collection at Paris Fashion Week as well. It was based on Equestrian Theme.

Models were looking awesome in nip-waisted jackets, buttons and long nineties skirts accessorised with hats, worn aslant and luminous make up on eyes. Color scheme was subtle yet very eye catchy.

Halter-neck cocktail dresses with crystals on petaled skirts looked awesome. Galliano made it more dramatic by kneeling to kiss hands of his models.Galliano focused neatly represented both traditional and upcoming American moment.

Models looked beautiful with their hair caught in oversized snoods, and brandishing four-foot long riding crops. Jackets detailed with silver buttons and extreme peplums paired with riding skirts, designed in side-saddle style in a mix of pleats and draped folds, truly represented 40s fashion.

Short cocktail dresses in a froth of hand-embroidered, pastel lace and tulle, accessorised with chiffon-swathed picture hats and the models’ luminous make-up and eyes, shadowed in jade and lilac, took spectators way behind in time.

This Spring 2010 collection was truly a feast for people who love Vintage fashion.

John Galliano’s debut menswear collection named Galliano, is all about the guys who have their own ideas, a stylish way to express their identity and that sporty attitude. This contemporary sportswear line has captured attitude and anarchy of London rock scene.

John Galliano’s Menswear Diffusion Line will give a boost to mens fashion as it includes street-inspired layered separates like stonewashed denim under rolled shorts and plaid shirts under wool sweater vests and trench coats. Whole attitude and styling of collection is very urban, quirky, cool and streetwise.

Most interesting fact about this collection is that it is very wearable. No doubt about it, as designer himself has this rule that he won’t produce it, if he won’t wear it. Galliano men’s clothing line offers a variety of smart urban styles for independent-minded man.

In keeping with Bacall-Bogart theme, the trench-coat was a key piece, worn with jeweled-lace petticoats or satin French knickers. The 1940s mode was embraced by vintage-look short dresses, in floral chiffon with ruffled skirts, or in metallic Lurex, pointelle knits, hemmed to enhance bust and featuring built-in wears and knickers.

Necklines were tied with bows, puffed sleeves and high, platform wedge-shoes that echoed retro vibe. The exposure factor was particularly compelling when black lace came over jewel-bright purple or fuchsia satin.

By night, glamor was amped up, as Galliano put his models into a flesh pink corset, a long, draped, mint green sequin-sprinkled skirt, a sunray-pleated gown as dazzlingly orange as a volcano, a chantilly-smothered Basque and black ruffled skirt, and a vamp red satin gown. For the first time, it meant that Galliano had captured romantic essence of his Dior couture, and made sense of it as fully resolved and seductive ready-to-wear.

The front-row line-up included Hollywood actor, Bruce Willis, and his new wife, Emma Heming, wearing a black-and-white, tailored Dior suit; singer Rihanna; and burlesque star, Dita Von Teese.
