Lela Rose played a space-age style for Fall. Surface treatments played bigger role than usual. Pyrite zippers added interest on opening look, and constellation-like crystal embroidery livened up pair of evening dresses. But it was a blousy cinched-waist frock which was treated in a way to look like it had been lined with pebbles that really made an impression.

Among the top looks were cropped pleat-front trousers worn with silk top and black & white “constellation dot” jacket along with rock embroidered bib necklace. Blue dresses including cobalt blue brocade-sleeved dress with twisted front detail, and cinched waist navy dress embellished with “moon rocks design” and slightly white fabric also ruled the runway.

Lela Rose’s 13th Payless shoes collection were featured in this collection. Graced with a glitter-covered heel, patent pumps and knit bootie heel these Lela Rose shoes might grace any celebrity’s feet for the coming season of award shows.

Strictly made for girly girls, Rose sent out a mouth-watering collection of sweet cocktail dresses, along with masculine-leaning pieces. Among them was a nubby cropped pleat-front trouser in navy & gray and sharp little jackets in graphic pixeled print. Rose’s color palette was fresh and unexpected, with vibrant peacock, pear, cobalt, and “Mars red” hues accenting moody blacks and metallic brocades.

This collection was a solid lineup of special-occasion wears that struck a hard-to-achieve balance between high fashion and accessibility.

Diane von Furstenberg followed her very successful formula of mixing high-fashion concepts with relatable pieces. This coming spring, her theme is queen of the desert. There were long and short dresses of all the colors of rainbow in collection. Colorful and chunky bangles were also worn by all models to add a little more orange, lime green and yellow to the looks. Sunset colors, including yellow, orange and purple, as well as greens and blues, were highlights in this line with a dominant palette so far this Fashion Week.

Donna Karan called her collection a “city garden party”. Although, in this urban setting, florals weren’t all pretty and perfect as she favored prints for spring that were casual doodle. Reds, pinks and florals over black were hot colors of this collection. There was lots of mixing and matching of stripes and florals, in tops & pants and full-on floral jumpsuits. Some of the best suits in this line were tailored blazers with shorts and, bright pink bike shorts that she called “Smoothies” underneath. True, it wasn’t a look for everyone, but with the right attitude and figure, this was a modern twist on an old standby.

In celebration of upcoming FIFA 2010 World Cup, the Y-3 Spring/Summer 2010 collection took a global tour of modern sport style, rendered in label’s signature of elegant athleticism. Collection underscored an abstract idea of World Cup dressing showcasing a perfect blend of fashion and sport.
