There was no shortage of lace, sheer, ruffle, cut-out applique or dramatic details. Erdem Spring 2013 Collection was inspired from Zenna Henderson, one of the first female sci-fi writers.

The collection was full of playful floral prints, pastel colors and 1950s silhouettes. Designer used soft yellow, grey, lilac, pastel blue and some acid neon colors for designing pretty, feminine pieces.

Show opened with models stepping on runway of old Eurostar terminal transformed into a field of thousand of carnations. There were structural print dresses, asymmetrical hemlines, colorful dresses with long train, printed trousers, color blocked blazers and much more.

Lots of bright and soothing color including red, orange, blue, green, yellow and many more were on display in structural yet feminine designs making Mary Katrantzou Spring 2012 Fashion Show, visually arresting.

Key looks of collection included printed bold weave sweatshirts, stretchy knit dresses, trouser suits featuring pink carnations, yellow, red and to blue colors; Mary’s signature cocktail dresses draped over one shoulder and jutting out from the hips.

Rounding up the show was a sculpted crystal and metal efinale dress featuring tin cans, metal flowers, rivets and sequins. Designer’s mesmerizing and infectious approach to Spring 2012 dresses make it very much spring worthy.

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2012 London Show presented structured parkas, pleated dresses, skirts and the traditional trench in eclectic prints and flirty silhouettes. Color palette flowed from deep mauve to asparagus green

Craftsmanship seen in beading on placket of a trench, geometric wooden beads around necklines, raffia trim on a parka hood, made it stylish.

Key Looks included a pleated dress in leaf green crepe, ruched dress in a bold block print, charming full skirts falling just below the knee, Burberry parka adorned with whipstitched hems, woven leather sleeves, beading and much more.

Along with trendy dresses and coats, Burberry Prorsum Spring 2012 Collection also flaunted chic accessories including multi-colored raffia bobble hats, wooden necklaces, beaded anklets, platform sandals and bags.

Highlights of collection included skirts with high, tight waists that softly tuliped to mid-calf, woven raffia in stripes of mustard and navy or plum, hardy cotton Parkas with trimmed hoods, peaked caps with pompoms on top, silk shirt dresses, cotton draped dresses in graphic prints.

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 show was based on look and sound of proto-supermodel Jean Shrimpton‘s golden era. It was inspired from archive photographs by David Bailey of Jean Shrimpton while shapes were based on the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth. Runway was filled with kind of outfits she might well have modeled.

Most prominent part of show were Coats, Coats and Coats. Trim coats were the center of attraction that were presented in variety of styles and colors that ranged from orange gabardine, olive, honey tones to black mink.

Shapes like princess shapes or straight to three-quarter length featuring cropping of the body, dropping the shoulder, exploding the sleeve were stylish.

Designs like drop-waisted, tulip-skirted dresses; blue organza dresses with stiff full skirts and a bow at the back of the neck and leanly mod sweaters and pants were chic. Accessories like variety of colorful bags matching with Trim coats were attention grabbing.

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 Fur coats looked must have for winter season. Designs like cocoon shaped cape-jacket hybrids with wide trumpet sleeves, Black and white fur coats, coats with lumberjack check of yellow, purple or red and black were hot.

It was a girly collection that featured tweed and fur tunics in tulip-shape with frilled hems, dresses with cable knit uppers and teddy bear fur below, plum-colored coat worn with heavy wedge platform boots.

Charlie Le Mindu Autumn/Winter 2011 Fashion Show spell bound the onlookers owing to stuff like a gas mask with a ponytail, blood drenched lace, a spray-painted mohawk, plastic garments with the words ‘pig’ ‘dirt’.

Charlie Le Mindu Fall 2011 Show also flaunted clear capes that were trimmed with Mongolian wool, lace veils draped down to floor-sweeping skirts made from hair and capes were emblazoned with red graffiti saying ‘blood is the war’.

Pieces like long lace skirt, lace-covered military hats trimmed with pearls were interesting. Rounding up the eccentric show was a bride stepping on runway in a bias-cut lace wedding dress with a train drenched in fresh, wet blood. She was donning an eagle made from lace with outstretched wings perched on the head.

Making the show all the more violent, envelope-pushing and weird was soundtrack that played noises of a pig being taken to slaughter as Charlie Le Mindu took a bow wearing a butcher’s apron coated in blood.

To underline collection’s raw quality, Williamson set the stage with pristine white tent built inside distinctly urban and industrial Battersea Power Station. A single glass wall and glass ceiling exposed panels of decrepit space. This is no place for bikini or caftan, it all seemed to say. And sure enough, the city-chic foundation of collection was smart featuring languid tailoring in safari blouses, cargo pants, and wide, pleated trousers and shorts, along with constructed, body-hugging dresses featuring beading chunks.

It was a jaunty, color-packed collection featuring raffia fringes and embroidery on miniskirts, cropped jackets and lightweight wool shifts. The swingy skirts were dripped with bugle beads and peacock feathers, and handcrafted tops with details made from bits of wood and tin.

For evening, Matthew Williamson’s floor-length gowns were crafted from floaty parachute silk fastened with utilitarian straps and buckles. The colors in this collection were as bright as parrot’s feathers and smudged digital prints took their cues from jungle landscapes or iridescent fish scales.
