Looks at Herrera’s show reminded us of women of 80s television show “Dynasty” styled in 2010 fashion. For Fall 2010, Carolina Herrera showed properly tailored outfits including wide-leg trousers, sable jackets, fox shrugs, and crisp white shirts, cocktail dresses, with full, Castilian double-sleeves. There were strapless embroidered dresses, appliquéd with scarlet velvet poppies, steel-grey silk organza gown, with immense, puff sleeves, and hourglass skirt.

Makeup highlighted 70s smoky eyes, with accented cheekbones and neutral lips and a lip pencil on eye area so as to get deep, true color. And look of hair was emphasized smooth, and clean with a center part that cascaded behind the ear and down the back. Models on runway were accessorized with huge, wide brimmed hats, big vintage-y button like earrings and fur.

Carolina Herrera, famous for her luxurious, opulent feminine pieces, has definitely delivered this season an elegant array of gowns that incorporated touches of velvet, like a silk draped gown (above left) with a deep red velvet ribbon. This collection reminded us of Herrera Spring 2010 Collection, and this collection was truly phenomenal as always!!

Carmen Marc Valvo has established himself in fashion industry for his incredible tailored clothes that celebrates curves of women including clients like Kate Winslet, Beyoncé, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah. For Fall 2010 collection Carmen Marc Valvo has toned downed his collection without losing one bit of glamor. In his collection he showed a black wool sateen or gold lacquered taffeta trench coat. Adding to Volvo collection were little black dresses, red cocktail dresses and long slandering gowns.

The look of hair in Carmen Marc Valvo collection, was of Forties New, so keeping that in mind hair was tucked into a bob. As this collection was shown at evening and many models were wearing hats, so Jennings, the makeup artist want makeup to pop from underneath and lips were a combo of Beetroot pencil and a new burgundy lipstick, again a bold lip was front and center. Eyeliner was also done, with blocked out brows which really appealed to be fascinating.

Carmen Marc Valvo has proved that he is a stand-out of fashion industry, consistently stepping up, to fulfill the needs of today’s sophisticated woman. Through his exquisitely crafted gowns and luxurious separate Carmen has set a new standard for women’s evening wear. Look of whole collection was ELEGANT!!

Each model descended from modernist archway, wearing his expert play with layers, proportions, and lots of textures, from fuzzy knitted wool to deco-printed silks.

Taken inspiration from nature, fur, suede and warmth, Thakoon embraced a more grown-up vibe and unleashed a wild side with pieces like tiger-printed draped dress and bevy of fur jackets and hoods. They all were layered over a range of skinny pants.

Among the top looks were a gray cable matelasse cape-sleeve hooded jacket with big patch packets and an overall masculine outerwear feel. Another popular look was a gray rumpled velvet peplum jacket over black chiffon blouse and gray wool track pant. Black peacoat with fox inset in sleeves over grey and black knit short leggings was also an awsome attire.

Thakoon also used fur with skill and restraint, combats devil Uggs with awesome booties, and keen details to create sleek and sophisticated winter collection.

Max Azria reinvigorated that now infamous bandage dress in an unexpected way. The collection walked fine line between sophistication and urban fashion edge. Most of the dresses were strapless, asymmetrical, ruffled, half bandage/half lurex, and beaded.

Apart from bandage mini dresses, there were coats, bandage pants, bodysuits, laced bandaged tops and slashed boots. It won’t be surprising to see some of these dresses on Herve Leger fans like Diane Kruger, Miley Cyrus and rest of young Hollywood.

Classic Leger bandage dress has strongly sporty aspect all on its own, and adding a graphic, peak-performance element made an awful lot of sense. More sporty spice came from black neoprene jacket and coat laced from shoulder to wrist. There were many beautiful pales, skinny laced pants— revealing a great dark sci-fi vein here, too.

It needs a sharp brain to design numerous dresses totally made of bandages and this was beautifully shown in this collection of Herve Leger by Max Azria. Truly well done!

There were plenty of miniskirts and dresses with soft cascades of ruffles on sleeves. Lots of colors, ruffles and velvet dresses set the mood of show. Highlights of show were a cerise print velvet dress, a copper shearling coat, and long velvet assymetrical gowns in caramel and gold.

Adding sparkle to collection were a couple of beaded pieces like a jeweled tank top with a stunning pattern of gold, silver, and turquoise. Military look to collection was given with Army olive pieces like an olive silk anorak with a velvet back, worn over color of 2010 i.e. turquoise metallic print dress.

Nanette Lepore Fall 2010 ready to wear collection was fresh and vibrant with lot of colors like deep burgundy, rustic orange, olive, magenta, and turquoise which are perfect for fall.

“I always wanted to live a man’s life in a woman’s body,” said Diane von Furstenberg for her show notes. As the lady hasn’t explored mannish looks much in past, so it was surprising to see her new collection that revealed essence of masculine versus feminine. It made this collection one of the designer’s most satisfying shows in a while.

To start things off, von Furstenberg threw a bolero densely embroidered with chiffon rosettes over a heather gray felted wool double-breasted pantsuit with short, cuffed trousers. This novel concept was repeated later with an ivory silk cord cardigan worn over a satin black tuxedo jacket and matching evening jumpsuit. Fur hats and lace-up oxfords added a grace to all dresses on which they were worn.

But it wasn’t all about playing hard against soft. There was no shortage of feminine frills, frocks and wrap dresses, which are this designer’s bread and butter. Some interesting offerings included a black shift with chain mail inset horizontally below hips, cream organza dress, a twenties-ish belted chiffon tunic dress over cropped pants, and a panne velvet dress embellished with a giant glittering beetle.

Full layered looks were in effect, but when lovely Natalia Vodianova closed the show, her solitary off-the-shoulder gold lame dress looked like a present from designer herself. Though there were some prints (one above) that reminded us of DVF spring 2010 collection.

This was a last show of her right-hand man Nathan Jenden; as he’s leaving to focus on his signature collection. No doubt they were both pleased to be ending their famed relationship on a positive note for their victory lap.

Collection comprised of military jackets, cardigans, denim and chambray shirts. Highlights of this collection for fall 2010 representing menswear designer fashion were: waist belted coats, gold glamorous buttons, pea coats, black and brown leather boots, shirts with big shoulders, furry coats and neon colored trench coat for fall.

Color palette used in Italo Zucchelli Fall 2010 collection were mainly immortal black, shades of green, dark blue, sophisticated gray, soft cream and chocolate brown.

If you are thinking that military inspired jackets were only there for a season, then its not true. In this collection you could even see winter fur coat which came in light colors like soft cream or in black.

In Calvin Klein fall 2010 collection, there were wide variety of men’s outwears, as well as sophisticated, casual and classic clothing.

Definitely, dressing up in one of design of this designer collection would help guys in impressing their girlfriend as a girl feel proud to have a fashionable man next to her.

In Donna Karan Fall 2010 collection there were plaids, kilts, roomy boyfriend jackets and comfortable jersey with sparkling accents. Color palette used was perfect for fall wear which include camel, black, blackish red, and plaid variation with charcoal caps, sapphire coats and burgundy wraps which gave a elegant look to this collection.

DKNY garments gave a look of ease and comfort, that was apparently seen in models walk, it was effortless. Overall collection was modern and clear.

Top looks of DKNY Collection consisted short skirt with side-ponytailed lasses, mini and pleated dress with bib front and black jersey sleeves, some in wool and others in a thick leather. To finish off, there were long scarves, ankle socks and woolen tights representing chic designer fashion. Outwears were really awesome that kept view polished and cool.

Donna Karan fall 2010 collection for was very elegant, with incredible diversity which included evening wear, outerwear plus tailored jackets. There were a series of art-inspired and flirty party dresses with patch work.It was just awesome.

Backdrop of Mulberry Fall 2010 show was very dramatic. There were three life-size, glitter covered panthers, sparkling beaded curtains and neon pink watercolor walls. Ruffle lizzie jacket, skirt in black wool tinsel paired with hooded trench in camel wool, embroidered Narina bomber in drizzle rabbit fur was looking awesome. There were lots of accessories and even three-year-old French bulldog on ramp.

But, talking about highlight of show, it was surely designer handbags. Unlike other shows, there was equal focus on designer clothes as well as designer handbags like classic Mulberry bags and clutches. Designer just pounced on notion that bags are a girl’s best friend.

There were a lot of handbags, beautifully featured in all different shapes and sizes. One can easily select bag from Mulberry bag collection Fall 2010 for every occasion. Show was full of leather goods that included chain-strapped Edna, which came in taupe shoulder bag and tomato red drawstring variations. A celebrities’ favorite leopard print handbag dangling from a gilded chain was breathtaking.

One more interesting thing about show was that each attendee received a marvelous Mulberry tote bag as a gift. In all Mulberry Fall 2010 collection was a great hit and an amalgamation of eye-catching dresses like jackets, skirts and scarves in black, blue, plum and leopard prints and great designer bags. Presence of Alexa Chung, who has a bag named after her, made it all the more stylish.

Rebecca Taylor fall 2010 collection featured dotty animal prints that were turned up with sporty puffer vests rather than floaty silk frocks of past seasons. There were florals in this collection, but you had to look twice to spot them (they formed texture on a dusty blue jacquard blazer). Most of the collection was meant for business ladies as usual. But there were sheer blouses, faux fur jackets, and too many riffs on ruffled sweaters that can make a big hit for any fashion-loving women.

Gray stretch-suede over-the-knee boots went with most of the looks. The long, clean line they created provided a modern counterpoise to all tried-and-true Taylorisms. But the only thing that mattered in winter accessories section was sparkle tights and Parisian hats.

Inspired by mixture of 1970s Parisian attitude and urban New York City girl, Rebecca Taylor renewed love for classic sporty looks. She worked hard on silhouettes to give a subtle edge using her signature feminine designs.

The color palette she used was full of dusty hues and new neutrals beautifully contrasted with military olives and hints of old gold. Fabrics were washed to provide a worn look and were combined with leopard faux furs, cashmere wool suits, and down quilted coats, together giving this collection an affordable luxe quality.

“She knows she’s cool and doesn’t have to try so hard,” was how Lewis, makeup artist for the show, described beauty look for Rebecca Taylor. He continued, ”Like Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon — French ‘it’ girls that roll out of bed, puts on her boyfriend’s jacket and look good.” This translated into textured, bedheady hair and not-so-perfect black eye makeup.

Faux animal coats with her classic femine accents and purple-y combinations were simply great and super chic. Overall, it was a super sweet collection of pieces that will definitely work for her and her obvious fans.
