Midriffs were all over the runways, from New York to Milan showing off tummies that were seen on big names that included Nanette Lepore, Michael Kors, Bottega Veneta, Rochas, Hakaan, Dries Van Noten, Manish Arora, Damir Doma, Balenciaga, Cynthia Rowley, Jill Stuart and Risto runways.

Dries Van Noten Spring 2011 show flaunted models in exposed midriffs trend. Michael Kors sent model in stomach-baring top paired with tailored pants and a matching jacket.

Nanette Lepore Spring 2011 show presented great outfits that showed just a hint of stomach that was not too much. Manish Arora went for futuristic crop-tops. Damir Doma Spring 2011 show presented navel-baring suits in citrus hues. Rochas baby-doll dresses with peek-a-boo midsections was sexy. Nicolas Ghesquière presented exposed midriffs with paneled layers at Balenciaga.

Looks at Herrera’s show reminded us of women of 80s television show “Dynasty” styled in 2010 fashion. For Fall 2010, Carolina Herrera showed properly tailored outfits including wide-leg trousers, sable jackets, fox shrugs, and crisp white shirts, cocktail dresses, with full, Castilian double-sleeves. There were strapless embroidered dresses, appliquéd with scarlet velvet poppies, steel-grey silk organza gown, with immense, puff sleeves, and hourglass skirt.

Makeup highlighted 70s smoky eyes, with accented cheekbones and neutral lips and a lip pencil on eye area so as to get deep, true color. And look of hair was emphasized smooth, and clean with a center part that cascaded behind the ear and down the back. Models on runway were accessorized with huge, wide brimmed hats, big vintage-y button like earrings and fur.

Carolina Herrera, famous for her luxurious, opulent feminine pieces, has definitely delivered this season an elegant array of gowns that incorporated touches of velvet, like a silk draped gown (above left) with a deep red velvet ribbon. This collection reminded us of Herrera Spring 2010 Collection, and this collection was truly phenomenal as always!!

This time, designer Tia Cibani presented a collection in New York Fashion Week based on nice fusion between traditional yet modern approach towards fashion.

Port 1961 Fall 2010 collection for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 was all about earthy palette, modern pieces that exude warmth, personality, and uniquely global point of view. Port 1961 Fall 2010 fashion show started with a model stepping on runway in white overcoat.

A glimpse of 80s Fashion was presented with blown out hair of models in wild curly poufs beneath their leather caps. Highlights of show were tecchie fabrics, architectural silhouettes, meticulous detail and luxurious embellishments, mulberry jacquard cape coat and mulberry silk dress.

Best dresses of show were dress in red chicory featuring single glistening sleeve, black wool cape and leather ‘licorice’ trouser worn by Yulia T.

Accessories like ceramic necklaces, metallic oxfords, leather hats, capes, wood mosaic necklaces, gauzy headbands, were beautifully intertwined in show. A great range of fashion footwear ranging from rain boots and menswear oxfords to ballet flats and sky-high chunky heels was also presented.

Models were looking really beautiful, pretty, yet subtle owing to their blonde brows, bronzed lids, lush lashes and glossy lips. Ports 1961 designer Tia Cibani truly knows how to stun fashion lovers every season through her thematic designs.

Zara’s spring 2010 collection is really youthful. Alexander Wang-esque messy ponytail on German model Toni Garrn, looks so beautiful with high-waisted leather shorts, bringing effortless cool look to the elegant collection. These pieces are very feminine, but once again there is monotony in predominant colors. It lacks strong colors like cobalt blue and fuchsia pink that dominated spring 2010 runway.

Zara collection for men is distressed along with waistcoats and shirts among other pieces, denim appears to be dropout with a relaxed spring statement. The catalog looks as amazing as Zara Fall 2009 campaign. Isn’t it!

Models gave an impression of the woman who knows how to ‘work’ her style with lipstick-red double-breasted short suits. Sky high heels proved to be a challenge for some models but at the same time a strong palette of largely black and white pieces, and amazing draping pleats enhanced their beauty. The jackets were unlined and light enough to be tucked in.

A basic navy knit spiffied up with a croc jacquard and subtle lizard pattern on a blush trench gave idea of designer’s recent reptile obsession. Rich red tones were specifically highlighted in the suits and jackets, coupled with a few caramel and subtle toned fascinating dresses. Outfits looked wearable for work, dinner, go out, wedding, concert and everywhere else as cuts and detailing were done in very interesting ways.

From appliqués to embellishments, sequins and ribbons, there was something for everyone. Lim’s collection bellowed, “look at me,” but in a fashionable way, of course. Overall show was incredibly pleasant. Entire vibe of the show was flavorful and organized as everything was new and youthful.
