The stage was set with a jaggedly geometric fiery red backdrop and the show got a splashing start with a lipstick-red suit. Lim’s collection portrayed fearless, yet modern and juvenile look with cropped tops, rolled-up shorts and pants, short jackets, short suits and a large stock of feminine dress styles. It gave a clear translation from runway to real way with its chic style. Models gave an impression of the woman who knows how to ‘work’ her style with lipstick-red double-breasted short suits. Sky high heels proved to be a challenge for some models but at the same time a strong palette of largely black and white pieces, and amazing draping pleats enhanced their beauty. Rich red tones were specifically highlighted in the suits and jackets, coupled with a few caramel and subtle toned fascinating dresses. Outfits looked wearable for work, dinner, go out, wedding, concert and everywhere else as cuts and detailing were done in very interesting ways. From appliqués to embellishments, sequins and ribbons, there was something for everyone. Lim’s collection bellowed, “look at me,” but in a fashionable way, of course.
