JIMMY Choo has also released a capsule collection of the favourite styles of the brand’s fans. The collection is called Choo 24:7, implying a shoe “wardrobe” that can take you from day to night, seven days a week. It was first launched alongside the Spring/Summer 2010 full collection; there is now a Choo 24:7 Boots collection for Fall/Winter 2010, as well. In an e-mail interview, the brand’s chief creative office, Tamara Mellon, 43, says that, “Boots are really the most important investment piece in a woman’s closet. A great pair of boots is like the perfect little black dress, it can take you everywhere and can be dressed up or dressed down and worn for seasons to come. “The collection evolved from core styles that are cherished by our customers. With each boot we looked at function and fashion and we thought about the needs of today’s modern wardrobe. Tamara Mellon and the Choo 24:7 collection of boots. “We looked at our heritage and identified the styles that Jimmy Choo is renowned for, such as the pointy-toe fitted-boot with a stiletto heel, which we launched 10 years ago. Jimmy Choo was one of the first brands to offer this classic in a chic camel kid.” And does Mellon have any advice on how to pull together a look with boots in Malaysia’s climate? “Alanis, a platform ankle boot in leopard print pony, is one of my favourite styles to wear when I am in LA, Miami or other warmer climates, as it is a real statement piece that I can wear with bare legs and a black pencil skirt to make my outfit pop,” she advices.
