The sixth season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has already kicked off revealing passion for fashion in the German capital. As one of the most popular catwalk shows in Germany, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin showcased an exciting portfolio of designers on its first day.
Among the first designer names announced for the fashion week are ALLUDE, Anja Gockel, Arrondissement Aq1, CUSTO Barcelona, .DIMITRI, Joop!, Hausach Couture, ic! berlin, Kilian Kerner, No Ifs, PerretSchaad, Mongrels in Common, Lena Hoschek, Marcel Ostertag, Rena Lange, Sam Frenzel, SCHUMACHER and Strenesse Blue. BOSS Black und JOOP! will show offsite. Here the review on some of its first day shows.
SCHUMACHER
SCHUMACHER’s fall/winter collection 2010/11 embraces issue of notorious ”deconstruction”, with high class luxury constructed in an exceptional way finding its place in present. Old treasures have been brought back to life and reconstructed detached from its origin. Tweed, velvet and chiffon fabrics which give out traditional elegance find new brilliance in combination with neoprene, leather and metallic qualities.
Not only this, Lace – a substantial symbol of feudal extravagance was mixed with wool and jersey awakens caught an unexpected attention. The mix of qualities with most beautiful, precious fragments, desires and structures are readopted and assembled in this fall/winter collection..DIMITRI
Grace, Glamor, and Sexiness, .Dimitri presented this all in his Fall/Winter Collection 2010/2011. The winter collection by .Dimitri combines all those influences that creates an accomplished connection between mythology, glamor and sexiness.
Fashion goddesses were wrapped into flowing silk chiffon dresses, warming leather leggings, staged plisse skirts and fur coats. The enthusiasm of designer for handmade work and game with material was highly visible in this collection. For his fall/winter collection, Dimitri artfully assimilated classy and premium materials, such as leather, fur, angora- and cashmere inter-mixture. His fur coats and vests came in different colors and lengths. The men in angora/cashmere winter coats convince with slender cuts and made a great silhouette. A-shaped coats, capes and leather jackets with ’50s style caught attention with shoulder details and leather borders.

JOOP! is one of the leading designer brands in premium segment. Founded in Germany in 1987, this international label is just an axiom for sexiness and glamor. Joop fall/winter 2010/11 collection was sensuous and supremely seductive meant for strong women, and men who understand that self-confidence and emotional awareness go hand in hand. Leggings, furs and black were the main highlights of this show.
Overall, the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin Fall/Winter 2009/2010 was really outstanding and amazing revealng Germany’s passion for fashion!!
