Paul & Joe Spring/Summer 2010 collection was a surprising change from flashy metallic and over the top lines previously shown in Paris Fashion Week runway shows. The collection, stays true to understated color with fabulous and flamboyant styles.
Sophie Albou’s lineup included Victoriana blouses, Liberty print shirts with white bibs, and bustier frocks in mini gingham checks with cotton lace trims. This collection channeled western style with a pinch of prairie girl. Her designs were great staple pieces, including trousers and blouses, shoulder handbags, hats, the flowy short skirts, and the subtle beauty of models. To enhance the femininity and add a graced touch of sexiness to the collection, Sophie’s gorgeous western dresses were presented with lace, ruffles and fringes contributing to the collection’s sensational style, and completing the look.
The colors used for collection toned down and offered a more modern-vintage look. The dresses were mostly black to emphasize the sexiness and mysterious look as well as light, warm colors like white, pink, blue, to balance the collection. It seems that there’s a perfect balance between the theme and needs of the present.
For accessories, Sophie used elements which aid collection’s theme, including cowboy hats and lace up patent leather boots, that were completing the collection’s style.
